Anthony Portantino added $437,120 to his State Senate campaign at the close of the June 30th reporting cycle. In total, Portantino has brought in more than $1.2 million to his Senate campaign coffers. He began July with $932,664 cash on hand.
“I am very grateful to the many friends and neighbors across the 25th District who have helped our campaign. I’ve said it many times that when people come together for a common goal positive results happen. Our campaign will continue to build on this great momentum, thank you,” commented Portantino.
Portantino’s financial strength and his success garnering local and institutional endorsements has him ending the summer in a very strong position. It is clear that Anthony’s long-standing ties in the district, his positive accomplishments and agenda, and his long-established relationships have helped him generate support from an overwhelming number of local mayors, school board members, city councilmembers and community leaders. In addition, Democratic and institutional strength behind #TeamPortantino includes State Controller Betty Yee, five “in district” Democratic Clubs, the Sheet Metal Workers Local 105, CWA Southern California, LIUNA Local 777, UA Local 78, The Teamsters Joint Council 42, Los Angeles County PPOA, AFT College Staff Guild, the California Small Business Association and the Association of Independent Commercial Producers for a broad breath of strength unmatched by any other Democrat eyeing the 25th SD. The surge in institutional support builds on decisive victories in the 41St & 43rd Assembly District Democratic Party delegate elections where slates supported by Portantino swept every delegate.
Anthony Portantino is a former Mayor, Councilmember, and State Assemblymember. He is currently a Visiting Fellow at USC and a member of the California Film Commission. Anthony is the father of two daughters – Sofia, who completed her K-12 education in the district, and Bella, a rising 8th grader.
